Leslie and Michael planned a gorgeous destination in one of our favorite cities to shoot in, Charleston. Although the weather didn't cooperate (it rained Cats and Dogs!), they and their guests still had a wonderful time. The historic church, St. Mary's, held a sentimental place in their hearts and the reception location at the Wild Dunes, was a super nice place to party and to stay! Once again, we got to party with The Embers that night! Woohoo! Their photographer, Ricardo of Lux Images, came up from Florida for the occasion.

Meredith and Drew
Meredith and Drew had a huge family and an enormous group of friends. The celebration started first thing that morning and lasted all night long. They hired the perfect band for the occasion too - the Embers. We love working with these guys; they know how to keep a reception movin' and groovin'.

Happy Birthday Elsa!
Well, her birthday isn't until Thursday, but we celebrated with family and friends on Sunday. Yes, Erik and I were just bursting with pride. It seems like just yesterday we were at senior prom, graduating from college, planning our wedding, buying our first home, and then staring at the positive pregnancy test in elated shock. Now our first baby, Elsa, is turning one! We are complete putty in her hands and have no problem with that!
Our friend Cyrena, who just so happens to be a family photographer cyrenaiviephotography.com was wonderful enough to play camera lady at the party! Thank you Cyrena!
And thank YOU for reading our mushy post today!

Jessica & John
Jessica and John are from Georgia, but a Biltmore wedding was what Jessica dreamed of since she was a little girl. The Carolina mountains hold a special place in her heart because it was there she spent summers visiting her grandparents.
The talented and amazing Gwenn Ford of Wedding Inspirations took impeccable care of each detail. She even managed to pull off some amazing weather for their outdoor wedding! ;)
Beautiful skies, a nice breeze, & breath taking views - the Biltmore in Asheville is one of our favorite places to shoot, and we couldn't have asked for a better couple, family, friends, and vendors to work with. It was our first time working with Brian and Gry of Woodward and Rick. They were great; we're looking forward to seeing the amazing shots!
The reception took place in the gardens next to the house. Jessica's sister, Rebecca, and her boyfriend had a surprise for the bride, groom, and all the guests...

Ashley & Max
The Tahoma Retreat is such a gorgeous location for a wedding. Ashley and Max exchanged vows outside beside the lake and then took the party indoors where they danced and danced and danced. Congratulations to the cute couple!
Erik and I are huge dog lovers and couldn't resist choosing this footage for Ashley and Max's "sneak peek."

Amanda & Adam
When Sikky Rogers of Rogers & Gala contacted us about a wedding for her friends, we were very excited. Any wedding with Sikky and Angela is GORGEOUS and well-organized.
When we found out it was in Linville, NC, we were even more excited (being the mountain lovers that we are). Then the cherry on the cake - we were introduced to the bride, and guess what? Amanda is so nice. What more could we ask for? Perfect location, excellent vendors to work with, and a sweetheart of a bride.
It was our first time working with Jonathan Burton, and he and his assistant were a blast. I am sure he was just as excited as we were about these ideal conditions.
Although the ceremony, which took place on June 21st, had to be moved indoors due to rain, no one's spirits were dampened and the party was an incredible celebration with wonderful people, wonderful food, and AMBIANCE GALORE! We were wowed once again Sikky!
Both Jonathan and Erik were still able to take advantage of the gorgeous scenery after the showers passed. Here is a sneak peek of some of the footage.

Sara & Greg
When these wedding contest winners of 96.1 the Beat contacted us, we were definitely excited.
They had just two months to put their entire wedding together!
One of our favorite people to work with, Chris Marsh of Photoplay was Sara and Greg's photographer. She recommended us to them when they decided to spring for a videographer. Thank you Chris!!!
The wedding ceremony and reception took place at the Omni in uptown Charlotte on June 20, 2008.
Erik had a great time working with Chris. They took their photosession to the streets of Charlotte, and Erik risked neck and equipment to get the footage below. :)
Congratulations Sara and Greg! This was a lot of fun!

Candice & Bradley
Candice and Bradley hired us only a week before their wedding. They are a sweet, outrageous, creative, silly, wonderful couple. We were glad that we got the chance to be a part of their wedding day.
Their ceremony took place at Myers Park United Methodist on June 14, 2008 and their love of the lake took their reception to The Pointe on Lake Norman.
Their photographer, Stephanie Chesson, was wonderful to work with. We are looking forward to seeing how she captured this unique couple!
Guests were a little surprised when Bradley and Candice danced a very traditional first dance, but the couple gave their guests just what they were hoping for during a very untraditional 2nd dance that they put together in just one day!
Check out the video below!

Our Print Ads are Out!

Well, we finally decided to advertise in Carolina Bride. Our ad just came out yesterday. Or rather, we just saw our ad in the magazine yesterday. Casey and Drea of Casey Cunningham Photography were awesome in supplying the photos we needed for our ads in both Carolina Bride and Weddings Unveiled this go round. (Thanks guys!!!)
We recently did a video for Casey and Drea from Kristen Zeiger's bridal portrait shoot. The picture of Kristen in the Carolina Bride ad is from that day. Kristen and her husband George are in our Weddings Unveiled Ad. Check out the video at Casey and Drea's site!
We haven't seen our current ad in Weddings Unveiled in print yet. The top ad is from WU and the bottom ad is from CB.

Amy & Aaron
We had a great time meeting Amy and her mother, Mrs. Najaka for the first time. It was back in late September and Gretchen was hugely pregnant and about to pop at any minute. If this sounds weird to be posting, we do have a point. Amy works in the NICU and was just as interested in our bundle of joy's arrival as in talking about her upcoming wedding. It is just the kind of person Amy is - genuine, caring, and so considerate of other people. We were really glad to be a part of her and Aaron's wedding.
Ivy Robinson was the event designer, and as usual, she made the Atrium pop with an array of beautiful colors and unique designs. Very hip and very cool!
We got to work with Critsey Rowe of Indigo Photography and her husband, Thomas. They are awesome photographers who work really great together. It is always a treat for us to work with the folks at Indigo. You never know what they'll think of next!
The highlights from their April 12, 2008 wedding can be seen here.
