Long Time No Post

It was a fun and exciting 2010 for Something Blue.  We had the opportunity to work with some great vendors and attend (of course with our video cameras rolling) some amazing weddings.  And of course, we welcomed our 2nd daughter on February 20th of 2010.  So needless to say, life has been busy and full of excitement around here!

As always we enjoyed working with one of our favorite wedding and event planners, Ivy Robinson at the Hinkle - Pickler wedding last summer and their extremely talented photographer Parker J. Here is a glimpse of a beautifully planned wedding and a beautiful couple.

Caitlin and Kevin

Caitlin and Kevin's wedding was just as beautiful and fun and perfect as the two of them are. We so enjoyed being apart of the day. Grace Beason of Grace Leisure Events did an incredible job. It was great having the opportunity to work with her at this exquisite Duke Chapel wedding. We also appreciated the great photographic talent of Rachel Garrison of Tamara Lackey Photography , and The Dickens Band kept the party jamming all night! It is always great having such awesome vendors to work with.
You don't have to take my word for it - just watch the video and see for yourself what a great day it was. :)

Cycling, Romance, and Winding Mountain Roads

When Debi and John asked us to come up and shoot them cycling in the Blue Ridge Mountains we were pretty excited. As videographers, it isn't often that we have the opportunity or interest from couples to do engagement features. How did it go? Well, it was it was a lot of fun. Here is some of the cycling footage we captured. We can't wait for their mountain winter wedding!

Katie and Eric

Working with Visio at Katie and Eric's wedding was a blast. Katie and Eric were really going for some unique twists for their May wedding that reflected the unique and fun couple they are. Checkout the video below. The choir came in singing down the aisles. That was one of our favorite moments.

Lip-Syncing Brides?

Yes, you read correctly. Music Videos and Wedding Day Memories coming together to create one awesome Video! How cool is this? Check out the video below to see one of the newest trends in wedding videography. Leave a comment below to let us know what you think of this idea. We'd love to help you bring out your inner rock star. Who wouldn't want to watch their grandma lip-syncing a Kiss song or their Uncle crooning to John Mayer?

Miriam & Steven

Such a sweet wedding and beautiful day. It was really special being a part of Miriam and Steven's wedding. It took place at Ebenezer United Methodist Church - the same church that Miriam's sister and parents were married at and the same church that her great-great-grandfather attended. We love sentimental and special details like that! It was the cutest church and although small, everyone crowded in - eager to be a part of such a loving couple's special day.

Winkler-Grady Wedding

We so enjoyed this wedding! Julie was a bride who knew what she wanted and knew how to get it. She was on top of details like no other bride we have encountered, and those details included making sure every single person at her wedding (including all of her vendors) were taken care of and welcomed. Before the ceremony David, the groom, (instead of being overcome with nerves) was so warm and hospitable and was taking the time to greet his guests and vendors.
We were certainly surprised by what took place on the dance floor - but many of the guests weren't surprised, and in fact expected nothing less from such a fun couple as Julie and David. I don't remember the last time we laughed so hard at a wedding reception (or ate so well for that matter!!!)
Thank you for the AWESOME time Julie and David!
